Data Scientist/AI Scientist – Self Driving

Job Description

We are looking for a Data Scientist / AI Scientist with a strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, and AI. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in building, training, and optimizing models from scratch, rather than merely integrating existing libraries or APIs, as well as practical experience developing AI Agent systems for real-world applications. Candidates with 5+ years of experience are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, design, implement, and evaluate statistical models, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning models.
• Develop models for forecasting, classification, clustering, and other AI-related problems.
• Perform feature engineering, data preprocessing, experiment design, hyperparameter tuning, and model performance optimization.
• Build evaluation and monitoring mechanisms to continuously improve model quality and AI Agent reliability.
• Collaborate with Engineering teams to deploy models as AI services that can operate reliably in production environments.

Requirements

Must-Have Technical Qualifications

• Proficient in Python, with a strong foundation in probability, statistics, linear algebra, calculus, and optimization.
• Proficient in libraries and frameworks such as NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, and PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Hands-on experience with the following model categories:
  • Statistical Models
  • Machine Learning
  • Deep Learning
• Proven experience in building, training, evaluating, and optimizing models, with a solid understanding of their underlying principles and fundamental algorithms, rather than simply using existing libraries.
• Practical experience developing AI Agents, with familiarity with LLM applications, tool calling, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), workflow orchestration, and multi-agent systems.
• Ability to design evaluation methodologies, perform error analysis, control overfitting and data leakage, implement model hardening techniques, and improve model quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing algorithms or core model components from scratch.
• Experience combining Statistical Models, Machine Learning/Deep Learning, and LLMs/AI Agents within a single solution.
• Experience with AI/ML R&D projects, research publications, or open-source contributions.

Expectations

• Ability to independently analyze problems and select appropriate approaches to solve them.
• Deep understanding of model principles, with the ability to implement, test, and explain experimental results independently.
• Ability to compare different approaches based on data and quantitative evaluation metrics rather than technology trends.
• Ability to translate research ideas into practical models or AI systems.
• Strong collaboration skills when working with AI Engineers and Product Owners (POs) to deliver and release products within agreed timelines.

• Working hours:
  • 8h30 AM – 12h00 PM
  • 1h00 PM – 5h30 PM

• Working days: Monday to Friday (weekends off)
